Heritage Conservation
The history of Pakistan dates back thousands of years - today, the past lingers on in the forgotten temples of the Rohtas fort, and in the twisting alleyways of old Peshawar… Serendip has taken on the mission to help preserve two of Pakistan's oldest historical sites. Please contact us at serendip@apollo.net.pk if you would like to know more about how you can help.
The Peshawar Heritage Trail
In collaboration with the Government of the North-West Frontier Province, Serendip has designed a conservation project, tracing a 'heritage trail' through the old city, passing through such landmarks as the magnificent ancestral home of the Sethian clan, Gor Gathri and the old Qissa Khawani bazaar ('the bazaar of story tellers'). The project will involve the input of local residents and aid economic and tourism development in the area, while conserving its built heritage.

Rohtas Fort
In collaboration with the Heritage and Wildlife Foundation, Serendip plans to host a fund-raising event at Rohtas fort itself to help towards the restoration of the once-magnificent legacy left by King Sher Shah Suri. The fifteenth century is brought to life in a stage play and sound-and-light show, recreating the life of one of the Sub-continent's greatest rulers within the very fort he had built over four hundred years ago.
