Internships

What We Are Looking For
Production in television and video is one of the most demanding careers a young person can undertake - it is also one of the most rewarding. Before committing oneself to a career in media production, it is useful to undertake a short term internship with us to gauge what television and documentary production is all about. At this stage, Serendip is looking for enthusiasm, an idealistic vision, and the confidence to put your ideas forward.

Eligibility
Applicants for internships are required to be at least eighteen years of age, and to have completed their basic pre-university schooling. A good command of English is important, while proficiency in Urdu language and writing skills are an added advantage. Previous experience of working in media production, or a background in visual or fine arts while useful is not necessary at this level.

Training
A standard internship lasts between two and six months. Unless you have been accepted for a specialised internship, you will normally be assigned to a Senior Production Assistant, and work with him/her on one or more projects. The training period will span the phases of pre-production research and script writing, production and shooting on location or in a studio, and post-production editing.

Training Workshops
Serendip holds regular training workshops for its in-house staff. These cover skills training in various aspects of production including camerawork, script writing, basic editing, directing and production management. If you are interested in participating in our next workshop, please contact us at serendip@apollo.net.pk and ask to be added to our mailing list.
